Rand Paul’s plan would be a good starting point. But trying to get Congressmen and Senators to trim the budget, even with a “Penny Plan,” is like getting meth addicts to give up their fix.

Read an overview on this proposal. I do not see how it will work. They will not touch the main drivers, SS, Medicare, Medicaid and defense spending (they might this). These are going up even more as more boomers retire.

It at least is an attempt but I just do not see it really working. The Senate is broken beyond repair.
