Lions are opportunistic predators. Unless they’re so full that they can’t move, even if they just something, they’ll go after anything that looks easy to catch. After all, they don’t know when they’ll eat next. They aren’t as successful as Wild Dogs as hunters.

What a horror for all who were there.

One of the most dangerous moments on WildEarth’s live safari drive was when Steve, one of the presenters, was so focussed on lion tracks that he nearly walked into a resting pride. Happily, it turned out to be one of the funniest moments.

And then he did it again! I didn’t see this one live. He really is an experienced guide. To be fair, the lions weren’t as easy to see this time.
