I’m sure they went back more than a couple days. They always hold info back. Hang on...they might be tailing him for all we know.
Certainly, much info. has been obtained, apparently including DNA as well as the images we have seen. I’d say the odds the killer is caught (”dead or alive”) are over 80%. If he makes it to a very remote area and has good skills in surviving in such, it might take a while. If he expires in such (say, from cold this winter), that might really extend things.
The killer made a lot of mistakes, so, he may be a skilled shooter, but IMO he’s not a professional assassin.
