A fugitive woman accused in the murder of a missing Hialeah man whose body was discovered in a recycling bin was arrested Monday in Mexico and extradited to Florida, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO).
A 5-month-old baby traveling with her was recovered safely and is now in Florida, authorities said.
The woman, Ariely Alvarez Cabrera, 27, waived her appearance at a bond court hearing Tuesday morning. The judge set her bond at $200,000.
Alvarez Cabrera's partner, 32-year-old Alfredo Carballo Gonzalez, also wanted in connection with the killing, remains at large, authorities said.(snip)
On Monday with the assistance of the Broward Sheriff's Office, U.S. Marshals, Mexican authotiries, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Alvarez Cabrera was taken into custody in Mexico and extradited to Florida. Investigators confirmed the baby has been recovered safely in Florida.
