SEN RAND PAUL: The GOP once knew how to fix the deficit — now they’re losing the battle

Really Rand?

When was last time the GOP, in your branch and chamber of government, was good at fixing the deficit??

It would take a value-added tax of about 8% to fix the deficit.

The worst part is that the Democrats haven’t even entered the battle against the deficit.

Maybe removing all the parasites from government offices would help a little.

What I need is help so we have the votes to pass them. If your Senator won’t cut spending and fix our debt problem, maybe it’s time you consider finding a new Senator who will.

While I applaud Rand's comment (and I do!), I must say that this is the first time I recall Rand targeting his own GOP Senator buddies.

And make no mistake about it, his GOP Senator buddies are the biggest problem.

Rand, We need to utterly destroy the democrat party machine before the GOP can do anything about spending that makes a difference. And even after destroying the democrat machine the GOP dinosaurs need wiped out. Until McConnell and those old fossils are gone it will not change much

“He doesn’t play well with others.”

I guarantee you he never played team sports as a kid... his complete lack of any sort of team mentality is obvious to me. ..he reminds me of the mommy’s boys that didn’t want to get their pants dirty on the playground when I was a kid.

They still know how to fix the deficit.

They just choose not to.

I am more frustrated with your constant posts trying to prop up two-faced Rand Paul. He’s a contrarian nutbar just like his old man, Ron Paul.

Every bit of federal spending should have a related tax/fee financing system.

The lowest 1040 rate might cover Medicaid service & Medicare Part A.

The increment to the second rate might cover debt service spending.

The increment to the third rate might cover DoD spending.

The increment to the fourth rate rate might cover Medicare Part B.

The Department of State can be financed by passports and visas.

The FAA and TSA would be financed by fees.

The Department of Agriculture and SNAP would be financed by a sales tax on items that would require a Mexican front of label warning and a prepared food tax with equal rates.

The corporate income tax might cover Medicare Part D, Medicaid drugs, veterans and other federal spending.

The federal government should pay for Medicaid drugs as it runs the patent system. States should cover 70% of other Medicaid costs as they regulate hospitals and doctors.

A tax rate (increment) would be increased by a tenth if a revenue shortfall of more than 1/20th occured.

All Medicare drugs should be placed in Part D.

Does the US export goods? How is the balance of imports vs exports? Do tariffs have any impact on that trade deficit? Do other countries also use tariffs to control imports? Is it ok for them but not for US? Why did you not mention any of that when discussing Trumps tariff policy? Sorry for all the question, but I seriously question your motives.

I'm frustrated with Paul.

When is he going to admit he was wrong about tariffs? Tariffs haven't caused inflation and are bringing revenue into the Treasury that is reducing the deficit.

The lowest 1040 rate might cover the federal share of Medicaid service and the portion of Medicare Part A that the Medicare tax doesn’t cover.
