A Washington teenager was arrested after investigators found a large cache of weapons and writings about 'mass shooting scenarios' in his home.
The alleged would-be killer, who has not been named, was obsessed with 'previous mass shooters' and 'idolized' them as he hatched a chilling plot to carry out his own murder spree, cops said.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Office said they descended on the boy's home in Tacoma, Washington after being notified on Friday afternoon that he was 'making threats to kill.'
Following a sweep of his home on Saturday morning, authorities said they seized a 'large quantity' of guns.
The boy also owned 'loaded magazines with school shooter writings on them' and clothes and writings that reinforce a 'typical mass shooting scenario', authorities said.
Deputy Carly Cappetto with the Pierce County Sheriff's Office told ABC News that a total of 23 firearms were found in the home, many of which appeared to be homemade using 3D printed parts.
Footage of the weapons seized showed long lines of weapons laid out on tables, most of which appeared to be long guns and AR-style rifles.
The teenager is now facing charges including attempted threat to bomb or injure a school, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of fireworks.
Cappetto added that the boy's parents have not been charged at this time, which has become increasingly common in the wake of school shootings.
After cops were alerted to the teenager's alleged 'threats to kill', a review of his social media found a slew of chilling posts showing a 'fascination of recent school shootings/mass casualty attacks', court records showed.

Are you all thinking what I am thinking?
How oblivious do parents have to be for this to occur?
Obviously a maga teen. And, thanks to the daily mail we know there were “loaded magazines”. Yeah, I know someone who may possess some of those.
Minor so no name.
My son was in the gym when a teacher asked “Where is X’s locker?”. My son pointed it out. They found 2 pistols and list of classmates. My son didn’t make the list. He tried to get another kid involved and the kid snitched on him.
The potential shooter was transferred to another school.
These events happen because they are tolerated.
Yup. A White trans kid. Can't tell the sex, because the news will typically use the kid's "chosen gender".
Who is his therapist? They always have one
Do you see what I see? LOL.
Ho-Lee-Fook.
What SSRI drug is the kid on?
Most school shooters are taking an SSRI.
And anti depressants and ADD type drugs.
Or the one “they” were “assigned” at birth? WTAH people. Insanity is going crazy these days.
How could the parents not know about that many guns.
Exactly. Did they ever go into his room? Go to a parent-teacher meeting? Ask him how he was doing, if he liked school, etc.? Plus, who was paying for the 3-D printing equipment and supplies? Thank God this was caught before another tragedy.
How did a 13 year old obtain these weapons without the parents knowledge? A lot more going on here!
Did the mother tell him he was a little girl?
Paper route? Mowing lawns?
In WA state, minors can not be questioned by the police unless a lawyer is present. Even with parent’s permission, a lawyer has to be present.
Kids here are skipping out as a shortage of public defenders cause delays past allowable holding time.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Ok... I’m not seeing something here. There’s anywhere from $13,000 - $30,000 in hardware and another $1,000 - $3,000 in ammo in those pictures. Several of those rifles have been modified with lights and all kinds of other goodies. HOW IN HECK DOES A 13 YEAR OLD HAVE THAT MUCH IN GUNS AND AMMO!? A couple of those appear to SBRs... pistols are fer chit.
The SBR?
