The father came out looking like a total wimp if you asked me. I know it’s easy to chest thump and act like a bad ass on the Internet when you are not in that situation, but I think I can safely say that I would’ve not acquiesced to her the way he did.
Fighting with a screeching Karen in today’s environment would make him look bad. He took the high road and I can’t fault him for it.
He probably saw two recent men get torn to shreds in the internet (one lost his job) over similar stuff and it wasn’t worth it.
He could have taken a more gentlemanly stance, not gasping and shaking his fingers, ya. Every boy/future man should know how to box and have experience at facing a physical foe
That way, even when women attack them, the way she was in his face all of a sudden, he doesn’t flinch
But he did the right thing. The woman was aggressive in a crazy way. Don’t fight with crazy people. Give up the ball
My question is how is the dad going all the way over to a crowd huddled around the ball then walking away with it.
That woman was unhinged. The father would have probably gotten an assault charge from her if he tried to do anything but give it to her.
She was completely out of control and I would have been in fear for my safety and the safety of my child if she was all up in my face like she was at the game. It appeared to me that she was quickly escalating to violence and the dad did what he would have to deescalate the situation.
And, the ball was in play until it was in someone’s hands. It was NEVER in hers, just in her vicinity which meant NOTHING. She is a hateful, POS and I hope karma hits her HARD.
People are NUTS and have killed someone for less. Team Dad.

Agree, the kid’s birthday and he wanted a homerun ball and he watched his dad hand his birthday present to a grown lady for no apparent reason. Emasculated.
it might have looked that way to you but the father had his family there and he instinctively averted a possible ugly scene by getting a deranged person away from them.. If he had been with his buddies or alone I doubt it would have gone the same way
His only real option was to prolong the confrontation until the ushers came to break it up. Then lodge a complaint about her “assaulting” him in front of his family to get her tossed. The security cams would have backed him up.
