Blowout Cards, a major trading card retailer, said it will pay $5,000 to the Phillies fan who took a Harrison Bader home-run ball away from a 10-year-old boy after yelling at his father in the stands during Friday night’s 9-3 win over the Marlins.
“But there is a catch,” the company said the next day in a proposal on its website.
“We want that ball signed and inscribed by her — and only her, whoever she is — ‘I’m sorry’ so we can simply give it back to the kid. Our offer is official and the offer is firm.”
The woman’s identity remains unknown.

He’s a good dad and a fine example. her name will come out and we’ll find she taught 2nd grade for 30 years.
She is known by name. Fired from her job. Banned from the ballpark for life from the owner.

Karen has gone to the mattresses. As the most hated person in America, she will never show her face for fear of being recognized. She will spend the rest of her days behind shuttered windows cowering with her ball in her house.

Why do so many people think he had to in any way manner shape or form fight with her?
He could have simply quietly said “no” and had security handle the rest.
I would have trolled her to her face in front of everyone.

She’ll be found out eventually. A woman like her pisses somebody off every week. 1 of them will ‘out her’. Unless it’s just her and her cats — but I’d keep a close eye on those cats.
His only real option was to prolong the confrontation until the ushers came to break it up. Then lodge a complaint about her “assaulting” him in front of his family to get her tossed. The security cams would have backed him up.

There was a shot of the scrum for the ball on X. The ball actually landed in an empty row in front of the woman and her date. The father swung in from the next section (same row) and got 2 hands on the ball. The woman was bending over the seat in front of her with a cell phone in 1 hand. It was quick, but it didn’t appear that she even touched the ball.

This is true, that she pisses people off every day, but MOST people don’t recognize others if they change their hairstyle or their glasses.
You have to look into their eyes. Eyes don’t change nearly as much as other attributes do.
We went back to a college reunion, ten years after we graduated. We saw one guy who nobody recognized.
I did, though! He had lost 100 lbs, but his EYES were the same!! There he was!! He looked great!!
After that, the ice broke, and lots of people talked with him.

Totally agree. I would’ve continued to keep her at arms reach the second she would get close. I would gently or forcefully move her back to arms reach again if she persisted. And then if she started swinging or scratching or biting, I’d probably put a heel straight to her chest with full force.
Then, when the husband shows up it straight to jiu-jitsu. No swinging or punching.
Hopefully by then security is shown the hell up
