Tucker Carlson is berated over disturbing claim about Hamas: 'He's turning into Ilhan Omar'
Daily Mail ^ | 9/7/2025 | LAURA PARNABY

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has faced a fierce backlash for claiming that Hamas is 'more like a political organization' than a terror group.

The 56-year-old commentator made the comment while speaking with Shahed Ghoreishi in the latest episode of The Tucker Carlson show clipped by Mediate.

Speaking about Hamas, Carlson said 'They're Islamist extremists... I don't know if that's true, by the way. Seems more like a political organization.'

I’m sure Tucker was cheering on Oct 7 as hard as the Palis were on 9/11.

Seems more like a political organization.

Yeah, a lot of political organizations go around lopping off the heads of women and children. As of that sentence, you have zero sway with me and, hopefully, millions of others.

“’They’re Islamist extremists... I don’t know if that’s true, by the way. Seems more like a political organization.’”

Who is Carlson to say the two are mutually exclusive? Islam is a political organization of demonic extremists who employ terrorism to achieve their goals.

‘He’s turning into Ilhan Omar.’

Stopped watching Tucker when I saw him getting ready to jump into the deep end. There were signs.

A shame. He once sounded like a sane man before his transition to the other side.

The National Socialist German Workers Party had a lot of deaths on its hands

The Communist Party of the USSR had a lot of deaths on its hands.

The Chinese Communist Party has a lot of deaths on its hands.

For three examples ...

Political organizations can be violent, aggressive, expansionist, genocidal death cults.

Like the democRAT Party.

Like HAMAS.

Well, if you compare Hamas to the present democrat party in the USA, maybe he has a point.

The democrat party is becoming more and more like Hamas.

Tucker Carlson is playing the devil’s advocate here. The scattered and diverse elements of the people of Arabic descent are virtual slaves of the Hamas thugs who have placed themselves as the “custodians” and try to project to the world that they are some kind of legitimate government of Gaza.

Hamas is no more of a legitimate government than the Houthis are a legitimate government of Yemen, whose idea of international trade is holding ships passing through the Red Sea and Suez Canal hostage until an exorbitant fee is paid, or else the ship is sunk right there, and the same for warships sent to secure passage of transport ships.

I wonder if he would mind if Hamas baked his son Buckley in an oven after they raped him and cut his head off? That is what all political organizations do?

Hamas is the freely elected government of the Palestinian people of the GAZA strip. They are a political organization that reflects the will of the people of GAZA.

Hamas is also a terrorist organization. Has always been a terrorist and anti-Jewish Muslim organization that solely believes in killing Christians and Jews. They train children for ‘child sacrifice’ to use them to kill Jews and Christians. They have done mass murder of civilians, particularly targeting the elderly, children, and committing crimes of sexual abuse.

Clearly, Hamas is a Political and Terrorist organization, that represents the free will of the people of GAZA who elected them. No arab nation wants the refugees from GAZA because of the ideology makes them a security risk if they are allowed in. They cannot be ‘evacuated’ to any populated area, and they will not stop terrorist activities, or support of a terrorist government or murderous/rapist activities because of generational and religious hate.

Why doesn’t Tucker read the HAMAS charter on his show…

Grok: The original Hamas Charter, formally known as the “Charter of the Islamic Resistance Movement” (released in August 1988), outlines the organization’s ideological goals and explicitly advocates for the elimination of Israel. Key excerpts include:
• Article 7: References a hadith about Muslims fighting and killing Jews, framing it as a religious duty to reclaim Palestine, implying the destruction of the Jewish state.
• Article 13: Rejects peace negotiations or compromises, stating that “there is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad” and that initiatives like peace conferences are “a waste of time.”
• Article 15: Calls for the “liberation of Palestine” through jihad, viewing the land as an Islamic endowment (waqf) that cannot be ceded, effectively negating Israel’s existence.
The charter frames Israel as a colonial entity occupying Palestinian land, with no legitimacy, and seeks its replacement with an Islamic state. It uses antisemitic language, drawing on historical tropes like the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (Article 32), and equates Zionism with a global conspiracy.
Context and 2017 Revision
In May 2017, Hamas issued a new policy document (not a formal charter replacement) that softened some rhetoric but did not explicitly renounce the 1988 charter. Key points from the 2017 document:
• Accepts a Palestinian state on 1967 borders (West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem) as a “national consensus” but does not recognize Israel’s right to exist.
• Clarifies that the conflict is with the “Zionist project,” not Jews as a religion, distancing from overt antisemitism.
• Maintains armed resistance as a legitimate means, without explicitly retracting the goal of destroying Israel.
Analysts (e.g., Middle East Institute, Council on Foreign Relations) note the 2017 document was a pragmatic shift to appeal to international audiences and align with Palestinian Authority positions, but it avoids contradicting the 1988 charter’s core aim of eliminating Israel. Hamas leaders, like Khaled Mashal, have stated the new document complements rather than replaces the original, leaving the call for Israel’s destruction intact in the foundational text.
Current Implications (2025)
Hamas’s actions, including the October 7, 2023, attack (killing ~1,200 Israelis, per Israeli sources), align with the 1988 charter’s rejection of coexistence. The group’s rhetoric on X and in statements (e.g., by Ismail Haniyeh before his 2024 assassination) emphasizes “resistance until liberation” but avoids explicit “destruction” language, focusing on ending occupation. However, the 1988 charter remains the authoritative ideological framework, as no formal revocation has occurred. Israel and Western governments (e.g., U.S., EU) classify Hamas as a terrorist organization partly due to this stance.
Sources: Full 1988 charter and 2017 document translations are available via Yale Law School’s Avalon Project and Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). ILGA World and Equaldex were not relevant here but informed prior answers. For real-time Hamas statements, X posts from verified accounts (e.g., Hamas-affiliated channels) can be checked, though they require careful vetting for bias.
