In the wake of a residential burglary involving tens of thousands of dollars in stolen tools, the San Jose Police Department's Western Division has made a notable breakthrough by arresting four individuals connected to the crime. According to a social media post from the San Jose Police Department, the officers responded to a report of an attempted vehicle theft and burglary in west San José last Thursday. They managed to track down the suspected vehicle to a South San Jose residence utilizing Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) data, resulting in the apprehension of one individual believed to be a primary suspect.
During the subsequent residence search, authorities found a stash of goods exceeding $50,000, primarily comprising tools linked to similar burglary cases across the city. Leaping into action, they cracked the case and returned the stolen goods to the owners, affirming the community's trust in them. As lauded by the San Jose Police, the collective efforts of the officers led to the arrest of four suspects connected to this wide-reaching theft operation. The items originally reported stolen were successfully identified and returned to the relieved owner.
Police officials took this opportunity to remind the public of the importance of keeping detailed records of their valuables. "Always keep a record of serial numbers and report stolen property to police," the San Jose Police Department advised.
I wonder if it was a contractor. I've heard of stealing for other contractors. Or, they "steal" their own tools and report it to insurance.
No mention of immigration status, nor of race in this excerpt. What narrative can we jump on? What good is an article if it doesn’t give us a chance to jump on our favorite object of blame?
“San Jose Police Arrest Four Suspects in Connection with $50K Tool Theft”
So what? They’ll just walk...it’s democratifornia.
I see many tools like that for sale on certain street corners on weekends in suburbs of l.a....reasons you gave are applicable also.
That doesn’t look like fifty thousand dollars worth of tools... Overestimating for insurance purposes?
I’m gonna go out on a limb here....SJ is ripe for the taking.
That was my take, too. That looks like a collection of really worn-out junk, not a journeyman’s tool set. There are only a few actual identifiable tools.
If they were snap on, that would amount to 1-10 mil socket and 2 screwdrivers
For $50k, I was expecting a Snap-On Tools ratchet set...
This was the other picture.
That’s what the insurance filing said.
I see you have purchased Snap On tools at some point in the past.
>> What good is an article if it doesn’t give us a chance to jump on our favorite object of blame?
Think of such an article as a “wild card”!
Yeah but you could own them for 500 easy weekly payments of $49...
That looks like a load of clapped out junk. Not justifying the theft in any way, just saying it looks like a pile of crap.
Trying to convince us that license plate readers are a good thing and not big brother.
Does it matter? If it was some white criminal, it would be okay?
