For decades Democrats have convinced every to coddle the criminals, and blame the victims. And look where it's gotten us...
I suggest a step in the opposite direction:sentence multiplication.
The minimum jail sentence gets multiplied by the number of times you've been convicted.
For example, if its your third crime you get 3 times the minimum jail sentence.
This would increase deterrence and maybe get them to start learning their lesson.
I am sure it would need some lofistics for felonies vs misdemeanor, etc but the logic holds.
Cap the multiplier at 3 however for violent felonies, at the 4th, mandatory Captial Punishment should be the minimum sentence.
The Romans had a method to limit recidivism................
Why?
That was put in place largely from "the black community" decades ago saying that it was racist not get rid of crime in black communities like was done in white communities. But then it became "enlightened" to "see the racism" in cleaning up black communities.
Prisoners often get medical care the average poor person can’t get. That’s on account of how things look to international watchdog agencies. It’s often cheaper to send a kid to an ivy league school for a year than it is to keep someone in prison. We need to revamp our education system and a dozen other institutions that have been consistently producing criminals. More of the stop and frisk and less of the handwringing liberals. There is no easy, quick solution.
This makes so much sense it doesn't have a prayer of passing the politicians.
Rats and other criminals believe in choice. So let us equip each holding cell or long-term prison cell with a sturdy bar or hook, a little stepstool, and a length of rope. Let the criminals make the choice.
Because the recidivism rate already for people who commit a crime is over 85%. For violent crime if a person commits 3 or more, they WILL do it again. At that point society needs to end the problem and the only sure end is capital punishment; we should not be paying to keep a certified repeat offender of violence in perpetuity.
As described above capital punishment is merciful to both the offender and society. The criminal has a chance to reconcile with the maker on their own terms also the reality and certainty may provide the clarity they need to find repentance as well as ensure civility is maintained in society.
MOST JUDGES CANNOT DO THE MATH FOR `14 +++ OFFENSES.
RadioGenoa on YouTube titled “ In 1900 white population was 36%, today it is 8%. If that doesn’t put the fear of God in you, what will? We need to act like Poland and protect ourselves let alone let repeat offenders prey on us.
That’s kind of my point.
Some people just refuse to learn a lesson, so we have court cases where they got 14 prior convictions.
If they never learn their lesson then just keep them in jail and away from society.
I understood that was your point, I agree with it.
Okay, so why limit it at all? That’s the whole point. They are going to learn a lesson, or is just going to get harder and harder on them. Until we finally don’t have to deal with them anymore.
I like giving them the Kevorkian option
