The book "One Second After", written by William Forstchen in 2009 is a classic story of survival after a devastating EMP attack on the USA, the main character John Matherson leads the community of Black Mountain, NC after the attack which destroys all modern technology and sends the country into anarchy is finally being made into a movie. Filming has just begun in Bulgaria, no word on release date. The actor portraying John Matherson is Josh Holloway who was in the TV Series Lost and Yellowstone.
I'm looking forward to this movie, especially if the producers do justice to the book.

It has potential for sure. Hope it turns out better than the disappointing “Homestead” show on Angel network.
That book gave me nightmares, but definitely opened my eyes!!! Don’t know that I could watch a movie about it. Especially the big battle scene. I literally cried reading that and I’m definitely not a cryer. Seeing me like that really freaked my wife out.
Yes!!!
You weren’t the only one.
It’s a great book! My wife got only a few chapters into it, said it was too scary and stopped reading. I said, “but Dear, it’s based on science and Congressional testimony, it really could happen.” Her response, “Yes, but it’s too scary.”
It’s the most likely of the scenarios that should cause one to be a prepper, in my view.
Once I got into the book, I could not put it down and read the entire book in about a day. I turned 2-3 of my friends onto the book and they had a similar reaction.

I enjoyed the book.

Loved that trilogy.
Great book. EMP is real. I know because once upon a time in my career as an electrical engineer I had to harden some electronics against EMP. However, I was never sure of the premise that a relatively low number of low-yield nuclear devices was able to shut everything down due to EMP.
Besides, all someone has to do is use conventional explosives to take out our transmission lines and the country will go dark for a considerable time.
