Because 150 million (not counting abortions) is not enough.
And homosexuality.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Humanity trends inexorably towards oppressive government. Socialism has proved extremely effective in advancing that goal. I don’t look for it to go away any time soon.
I’ll believe the Dems are doomed if they lose at least one of the governor’s races this November in NJ and VA. Until then, reports of their demise are premature.
I don't think there is anything wrong about socialism/communism failing. I wish it would fail more spectacularly.
I agree. As long as there are Republicans, demonicRATS have a chance.
Me, too.
Socialism is 200 years old....
The new Democratic Socialists (like AOC and Mamdani) are so much smarter than the Socialists of yester-year. They will make it work! [LOL]
The real appeal of Socialism/Communism/Maxism is that:
— It promises free sh!t
— It gives its leaders the ability to grab the reins of society and make revolutionary changes to build Utopia. Of course, none of the true believers ever imagine that Utopia will turn into a bloody Dystopia.
D Parker needs to get a brain or get off her lazy ass and look up some facts. Plymouth Plantation was the first documented socialist experiment in America started in 1620 which was 405 years ago not 200. And if you read William Bradford’s account a total disaster. The only reason the colonists didn’t starve was they abandoned socialism and went to a capitalistic model. But socialists have a mental condition that only allows them to see their fantasies and blinds them to facts.
You can't say that socialism never did anything good.
Agreed.
Exactly.
Very perceptive.
It's ironic that "conservatives" use Karl Marx's terminology.
The "free enterprise system" is a more accurate term.
Bread and circuses? I think that lead in the water supply is a likelier cause. What’s more remarkable is how long it lasted and its continuing cultural influence.
I heard this from the author of The Devil and Karl Marx—Paul Kengor.
“As European society was grappling with the impact of the Industrial Revolution and the rise of socialist ideology in the late 1800s, Pope Leo XIII issued an encyclical that expressed empathy with the discontentment of laborers but outright condemnation of the socialist movements of the time.”
“The papal encyclical, called Rerum Novarum and published in May 1891, emphasizes a need for reforms to protect the dignity of the working class while maintaining a relationship with capital and the existence of private property.”
“The message was promulgated fewer than 50 years after Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels published “The Communist Manifesto” in 1848 and after Pope Pius IX denounced both socialism and communism in his 1849 encyclical Nostis et Nobiscum.”
“As Americans celebrate Labor Day in 2024, Pope Leo’s teachings can still help inform readers on the proper relationship between labor and capital.”
“Leo writes of a “great mistake” embraced by the socialist-leaning labor movements, which is the notion that “class is naturally hostile to class” and “wealthy and the working men are intended by nature to live in mutual conflict.””
“This view, he asserts, is “so false … that the direct contrary is the truth.””

“””Socialism is 200 years old....
Yeah, but its never been done CORRECTLY. [ROTFLMAO]””””””””
All it needs to succeed is more money. It will work this time. REALLY, it will.
Those republicrats are just dems with an r next to their names.thats the real problem with the republican party.
Socialism will always appeal to rebelious youth.
It usually works initially, sort of, until you’ve robbed everything from everyone who actually has assets. Then it falls apart. Or as Thatcher said socialism works until you run out of other people’s money.
