They worry about a few thousand Brits upsetting the local culture but not the millions of muzzie filth pouring into Europe.
As someone with Celtic, Celtic Iberian- Basque, and British Anglo DNA confirmed by testing four different ones all within 5% of each other and family lineages I approve of this message. Tapas culture is great adding in some brit comfort food dishes is win win. Bring it!
English fish and chips always look so good when I see them on Brit food shows.
“English fish and chips always look so good when I see them on Brit food shows.”
.
Well, that’s because it IS good.
How the Brits came up with it after so many bland(ish) dishes is a mystery to me.
.
As long as they have Bleedin’ Watney’s Red Barrel.
Exactly.
It is a great dish the English can be proud of. They don’t have many.
You laugh about British dental care, but do note thvat bad British teeth really became noticeable after the economic disaster of the 70s. So it’s not necessarily “British teeth,” it’s “Socialist teeth” due to lack of orthodontia, considered unnecessary in their socialist healthcare plans. And I’ve noticed a lot of young Americans are sporting similar teeth these days.
The dumbest article or concern ever written and expressed. You don’t have to eat the Fish and Chips. Have your tapas or whatever, nobody cares.
They are delicious. We have a good Irish pub in town that makes good fish and chips. Culver’s also makes a good F&C dinner, but you can’t wash it down with a pint. But none compare to what you can get in London. I remember one place I went brought out the old style fish wrapped in newspaper…the fish was almost as big as a foot long Subway sandwich.
I bet if they started an English style fish and chips chain in the US it would do well;...(mushy peas not needed)
We just don’t seem to have the access to good fish that the Brits do.
I think I’ve found one restaurant near me that has anything like English fish and chips.
I was there in 2003.
Very British part of Spain.
Good fish is expensive. Before my husband passed away we celebrated our 48th anniversary while he was in hospital with a fish and chips dinner take out from a wonderful restaurant near the hospital https://www.originalfishcompany.com/
It was pricey, but I am so grateful to have been able to bring this to him before he passed away a couple of months later. 😢
“Tapas culture is great adding in some brit comfort food dishes is win win. Bring it!”
Agreed!! Mostly Anglo-Saxon & Irish here with a smattering of German and I’m in favor of both flavors - Spanish tapas and the various adaptations to traditional F&C. Fill the chairs with friends, Spanish & Brit, then fill the table with tapas plates of every kind.
I’m glad you have that memory.
(That look like a great restaurant.)
Hey now. The Brits have boiled meat.
