I had a similar discussion yesterday regarding supporting Israel or supporting Ukraine or supporting Country X.
I support America. ‘Allies” are like pet dogs: we love them until they bite us, and we say “I don’t understand…he was such a calm dog.” Every country is in it for themselves. No money, bombs, or soldiers for anyone other than American. Parenthetically, cats are an open book: nobody is surprised when a cat acts like a cat. That’s why the analogy works better with dogs.
But I digress.
The counter to my absolutist position was basically “the horse already left that barn. We have to play their game. So yea, they send banknotes to Iran and hate Israel, we then bomb Iran and support Israel, and hopefully we come out on top.”
A sin is a sin, no matter how much spin or lipstick you put on the sin.
Same here. The 2nd Amendment and the right to KABA is universal. There are lots of creepy people in America. Restricting the 2A rights of “those people” sounds great and gets clicks, until WE become “those people.”
I absolutely agree. We should never have to say “Oops” when it could have been prevented in the first place with a little intelligent forethought and practical common sense... I have now come to the conclusion neither of these exist anymore. Society operates on blind false realities with very little thought about consequences or real world cause and effect outcomes. No one has the common sense God gave them anymore... The worst part is they are going to take those of us who do have sense down with them too.
