"Not the job of the federal government. Up to the states. We need to tax less at the federal level and do less using it to coerce states"

Is the job of the Federal government to protect our borders? That means Federal agents in U.S. States to round up the millions of illegals allowed to come here. And if Federal troops are needed to make sure those ICE agents are safe while doing their job, then so be it. We have been invaded, and a war has been going on here for decades.

RAT-run States and cities don't do anything to keep their borders safe, despite getting our taxpayer money to do so. In fact they encourage lawlessness. That's a waste of a whole lot of money that could be back in our pockets. So what's the answer? Let the RAT politicians have their way, and run those cities and States into the ground, and continue to waste the money that taxpayers send, but have no say in what it's used on? At least using Federal Troops, I know I'm getting the biggest bang for my buck, because crime is down in D.C., and people who live there love it.

The Founders gave us the remedy for intrastate crime: the militia. But we have forgotten and have supplanted it. There shouldn’t even be an ICE; that is the three-fold mission of the militia per the US Constitution:

1. Repel invasions (illegal immigration)
2. Put down insurrections
3. Enforce the laws of the United States

Notice there is no room for overseas contingencies.

You mean the national guard? The ones being called up to protect DC and other toilet towns?

Article IV Section 4 of our Constitution provides for federal protection against domestic violence when the state legislature/governor asks.

“The Insurrection Act (10 U.S.C. Sec. 251 – 255) expressly authorizes the president to use military force to suppress domestic violence that threatens the rights of others when state authorities either cannot or will not maintain order. Furthermore, under long-standing caselaw, the president has broad authority to determine when conditions warrant invoking the Act, with courts presuming the president has done so in good faith unless clear evidence shows otherwise.”

A. Los Angeles did not ask.

B. The “domestic violence” language clearly refers to the threat of state governments being overthrown, not to carjacking and sexual assault. That’s why it’s in the same clause as invasion threats.

C. As a matter of policy, do we want federal troop to have free rein to impose D.C.’s will on every state and municipality?

Why are the US taxpayers paying to clean up blue cities, and not blue city residents?

Yes and no. The Dick Act of 1903 destroyed the militia system as was envisioned by the Founders.

I’m not saying there isn’t a place for federal support, but the Founders envisioned sovereign states with a militia to do just that. The same “militia” the Founders held higher than any other institution to ensure a free state.

The Dick Act of 1903, along with subsequent NDS, did violence to that idea.

I’m not objecting to the Feds sending in help to democrat cities which need it.

The extra federal funding for the police is what I’m objecting to.

Do you really think that that money would go to extra police force presence, and how would that enable the the police to enforce the laws that the democrat mayor, city council, or police chief are forbidding them to do?

I don’t see the issue as much funding as city leadership hamstringing the police to prevent them from doing their job. As long as no bail and catch and release is still being pushed, half the national budget will not lower crime. It would just line more corrupt democrat’s pockets.

“I imagine a lot of tourist incidents happen as a result of alcohol consumption.”

You miss the point. You worry about tourists and forget the innocent citizens who are the majority of crime victims.

Actually, the conversation I was having with the other person was about our personal experience in those cities. As tourists. So….

Here’s the deal.

We have fifty red states.

Governed by 50 Deep State blue legislatures.

And to those who still think they live in red state...

Take a look at your state budget. Especially the outyears.

There’s not one MAGA red state legislature in our nation.
