They could build trucks with elevating cabs like this excavator. Add in a sensor that automatically elevated the cab to the height of the top of the load, and there wouldn't be as many bridge strikes.

Looks like he had last second doubts and slowed down. If he was going the speed limit, either the load, the truck or the bridge (or any combination of the three) would have given out.
