We just had our third winter in a row with well below average snowfall and this past winter with above normal temperatures.
It also feels like winter comes later, spring comes later and summer comes later. I also noticed the birds start swarming earlier to head south. They were swarming over two weeks ago in mid-August this year. Thought that was interesting.
Just observation, nothing scientific about it.

Winter changed into Spring. Spring changed into Summer. Summer changed back into Winter. And Winter gave Spring and Summer a miss and went straight on into Autumn.

A huuuuge percentage of “science” articles and papers have been retracted, debunked and discredited. The initial “news” is everywhere. The retraction is whispered.
I adore real science. I used to subscribe to Scientific American. I did not understand every page, but it made me think, and want to learn more.
We no longer subscribe to those great magazines that have embraced anything but science: Scientific American, National Geographic, Smithsonian, etc.
The only answer is to tax the people more. /s
In coastal Southern California, with a Mediterranean climate, our summer is hottest in August, September, and into October. In June, when many parts of the country experience their most pleasant weather, we have “June gloom“. We typically need a jacket for Memorial Day. Skies are overcast, and the breeze off the water can be brisk.
I think the world has long recognized that not everybody does winter spring summer and fall on the same schedule. Wonder why scientists are now noticing?
Justin Timberlake is no longer in In Sync, either.
I want more madness. Those poor polar bears are freezing. The unemployed need to be put to work building dykes. Martha’s Vineyard needs to sink.
They do not seem to be blaming global warming. Refreshing change.
Actually, there is no conclusion or an action suggested.
I would say, they need more study = more money.
I do my own science. I’m trying to discover how I weigh the same no matter how much I eat, or how much I crap, with or without my shoes on. Is there something wrong with my scale? I’m also trying to find a way to cheat at the lottery, and am getting close.
Summer doesn’t end in North Texas until mid to late October.
