UK Protests Gain Steam
Hot Air ^ | 30 Aug, 2025 | David Strom

Anger is boiling over in the UK pressure cooker, and it is hard to see anybody in power finding the courage to use the steam release valve before it explodes. On the issue of immigration, it now boils down to the state vs its citizens.

What began as a flag protest--English people putting up the St George's flag as an act of defiance against government indifference to their anger--has spread to Wales and Scotland. Larger and larger crowds are gathering, and confrontations with police are becoming common.

The latest outrage--a High Court decision ruling that a migrant hotel the Epping Council had planned to close--must remain open because the rights of migrants to housing outweigh the rights of British citizens--has ramped tensions up several notches. Of course it has.

The Epping hotel case was about more than planning law. It was a litmus test for where the loyalties of this Labour government lie.

I went to support the peaceful, patriotic protestors in Epping, because I share their concerns about illegal migrants being housed in communities.

Starmer’s government, on the other hand, has shown itself to be on the side of illegal migrants who have broken into our county.

Yvette Cooper has used taxpayer money – your money – to keep open a hotel housing them. The Government’s lawyers proceeded to argue that accommodating illegal migrants was in the “national interest”.

In court they even argued the right of illegal migrants to free hotels is more important than the rights of the British people, and they won.

The Home Secretary argued an injunction would encourage more protests. The great irony is that this decision – which puts two fingers up to the legitimate anger of the British public – will surely inspire even more.

Councils can and should still act to close hotels. If they don’t, residents will rightly ask, whose side are they on?

Brits and other Europeans have for far too long been bending over and grabbing their ankles while their leaders rammed immigration and other leftwing policies up their rear ends. The lubrication is wearing thin and it’s finally starting to hurt, but is it too late to reverse course?

The Beginings

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.

Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.

Kipling, in another context

The only thing the British need to do is respect the law. Illegal immigration is unlawful. If there are not enough border guards, the military should be used. After all, the military’s primary duty is to protect national borders against illegal invasions.

Trump has chosen to uphold U.S. law by protecting America’s borders, and every EU nation should do the same. In fact, many have started doing that now — even in Scandinavia.

When legal authority ignores or defies what is right, all decent people have left is vigilantism. When that finally becomes the “rule of law” I.e. defacto law, illegal aliens will beg for the chance to self deport. Quisling politicians will beg to go with them. Politicians will see first hand thaw when legal authorities destroy law, the result is you have only the law of the jungle.

In the decadent phase of Western Civilization, Europeans allow themselves to be destroyed, lacking the will to protect themselves, their families, and their civilization.

How they arrived at such absurdity is not difficult to understand, but their inability to carpe diem and take meaningful action means nothing less than mass madness.

This pandemic of psychotic delusion is as deadly as the pandemics of black plague of ages past, and threatens to be more deadly than all the plagues, wars, famines, and other disasters.

The majority of Americans did comprehend the evil that is decadence, did seize the day, and did take meaningful action: We elected Donald Trump to the Presidency, with Republican majorities in both Houses of Congress, empowered them, and reduced the forces of evil and decay, viz. the Democrat Party and its ilk, to the pathetic position of trying to defend unspeakable evil.

Whether the Europeans will awaken from their delusions in time to save themselves and their children, remains to be seen.

Americans have sent their sons to die to save Europeans from their folly in the past. It's unlikely that they will do so again.

I would love to see Prince William fly the Union Jack outside of his home - and run it up the flagpole himself, not using some servant. That would send a message.

Deep States everywhere love to cheat on election day. It’s in their DNA to do so.

Beyond that, one problem is that the UK has a lot of political parties. And it only takes a plurality to win a district election. There have been cases where Labour wins a seat with only 1/3 of the vote.

The remaining votes are scattered among the many other parties.

They can pretty much get 1/3 of the vote with Marxists and Muslims living in the district.

He probably already does. But you’re on the right track. William should fly the St. George’s flag. Charles should do the same at Buckingham Palace.

But neither will do so. Mustn’t lift a finger - or take a stand - as the country falls apart. Better to spend the time reminding servants just how the tea must be served.

My statement was purely rhetorical.

Regards multiple candidates causing loss, It is what all parties do, with candidates and ideas/causes.

Always attempt to cause disarray by fomenting disagreement and injection of half truths while attempting to look like wind driven snow.

Having multiple weak candidates on the other side always helps, sometimes needing a shill to complete the steal.

The House of Windsor already tried to do its Deep State a solid by inviting Trump up to Balmoral during his state visit.

Well away from the public and the media.

That stratagem didn’t work.

The House of Windsor has always been about doing what’s best for the House of Windsor.

And I include QEII and KCIII in that.

I hope for the UK’s sake that William is different.

Maybe not. Published a few hours ago...

Furious residents vow to boycott council tax until asylum hotel is gone The hotel at the centre of the row was the subject of a court ruling on Friday.

I don't think most councils in the UK would last long if taxpayers got serious.

Well, they found out it was much easier to give up their country to international socialism than to take it back.

A simple solution would be to create a new country on some remote Scottish island and send the invaders there.

This country could be called Charlesstan. The kingdom would not have government-owned houses or welfare. Only the UK military could bear arms there.

And yes, the US could create a Trumpstan on the Mexican border.
