I spoke to someone who knows the family of the Minneapolis trans mass shooter. According to this source, it was James (Jim) Allen Westman — not Mary Grace Westman — who was the most affirming of Robert (Robin)’s gender dysphoria. Jim is very liberal, as I saw on his social media before he deleted it. After the divorce, the couple’s five children allegedly looked to him for affirmation on choices their mother wouldn’t support.
“Mary Grace was very conservative and Jim was not,” the source says. She had been involved in pro-life activism, having given up her first baby (before the marriage) for adoption. “Because of this dynamic, the kids always went behind Mary Grace’s back to Jim for approval of doing things she didn’t approve.”
In the aftermath of the Annunciation Catholic Church mass shooting on Wednesday, Ms Westman (née Wilson), 67, has been ruthlessly vilified by mobs on social media because her signature appeared on the court paperwork that allowed Robert to legally transition as a minor. (In Minnesota, both parents typically have to consent to a child’s identity change.) But the source believes Ms Westman was under immense pressure — from professionals, doctors and family — all warning her that unless she signed, her son would kill himself. This threat is a familiar line from mainstream trans groups: transition or suicide.
The online mob rage against Ms Westman grew as Minneapolis Police said she wasn’t returning contact with them from her home in Naples, Fla. She also retained a criminal defense lawyer. But it is not unusual for someone not to speak to law enforcement without retaining counsel. Her Florida home was visited by the FBI after the shooting, but no one appeared to be there, according to local media. She was reportedly on her way back to Minnesota to be with her children.
Mr Westman, 62, lives in Minneapolis and is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) application developer for tech company Esri. The company is a world leader in developing software for digital maps. He remarried after the divorce.
“[Robert] was the youngest of five children and experienced a difficult divorce between his parents,” the source says. “Shortly after she signed the form for Bobby, she moved to Florida after he turned 18. She was heartbroken over all of this.”
The shooter himself admitted in his manifesto that his mother was not initially supportive, and he resented her for it.
“I remember one day, she said something like, ‘In the future you will look back and feel ridiculous about who you feel like you are inside. You will regret this,’” the shooter wrote in his manifesto. He also confessed that he had come to realize he’d been “brainwashed” into becoming trans.
But by then, he wrote, it was too late to go back. “Gender and weed fucked up my head,” he wrote. “I wish I never tried experimenting with either.” For him, detransitioning would mean admitting defeat, and he worried it would thwart his murder-suicide plans. His chilling conclusion: death before detransition.

Anyone who thinks she is being made a scapegoat need look no further than the application for the name change.
Transition, and two kids are murdered, many injured, and then a suicide. Mom sure dodged a potential guilt-trip. Not.

I stand here admitting to being GUILTY of jumping to the conclusion that the big promoter of all that is Trans must have been Mary, his mother. Turns out, Mary warned son Robert that he would regret trying to change his sex.
How interesting, that I have yet to hear even one little PEEP from the killer’s father. No apology, no rationalizations, no nothing! After all this ‘advocating for change and upheaval’ he suddenly wants to be treated as invisible by the very shocked public. Maybe next week, he will deny even having been the Killer’s Sperm Donor.

That would be the same Alex Jones that revealed that Zuckerberg uses 20 foot tall combat robots to keep people off his beach in Hawaii.
Mary signed the paperwork.
Esri has a lot of fedgov contracts, so it’s tough to totally disregard the possibility of contact with the CIA or other agencies. IIRC, Esri has an annual government-wide conference. The Trump administration pulled the plug on Executive Branch participation back when all the DOGE work and cost-cutting began.

I am not a fan of Jones. I know some people are, but he does not resonate with me in any way.
The personalities that DO resonate with me are Bill Whittle, Dan Bongino, Stephen Crowder, Bill Whittle, and John Solomon.
Early on I saw a document where the father’s name was also listed. I can’t find it now, but I believe they both signed the paperwork for the name change.
It doesn’t change the fact that his mother did sign it, but I believe the parents were under duress by the state of Minnesota or else the state would take their son away from them.
It was reported in the article that he lives in Minnesota, and is a GIS application technologist for Esri.
He lives a couple blocks away from the church where his son murdered two innocent children.
He’s letting his ex-wife take all the cr@p for this, when he is surely part of it, too. After all, he made a Facebook post with pride colors flowing to wish “Robin” a happy 18th birthday a few years ago. What a man!

How many parents have warned their “know it all” teens about stuff only for the kids not to listen and bad things to happen?
You know some times parents just gotta let kids find out “the hard way”. Majority of the time kids learn from that experience. This time? Yea it killed him.
There was nothing this parent could have done. Had she not signed the kid would just have had it overruled by some lib judge so lets not act like we don’t know that. He also would have been taken away by CPS and she would have been labeled a “bad parent” probably facing the loss of her other kids. Then again, we knew that too.
