Arch Manning’s long-awaited (and much-hyped) 2025 debut turned out to be a showcase instead for defending national champion Ohio State’s defense. Manning, the consensus Heisman favorite entering Week 1, struggled to solve new Buckeyes defensive coordinator Matt Patricia’s scheme. He finished 17-of-30 passing for 170 yards, a late touchdown and an interception — plus 38 yards rushing — in a 14-7 loss.

He is a true freshman right?
It was his first college game against the defending national champions at The Shoe.
I think he will be fine. He actually did better than I thought. Texas failed to score a touchdown from the one yard line. If the longhorns score there, it’s a different game. I think the Texas coach had a bad time managing the game for Arch to succeed.
I think Texas and Ohio State will meet again in the National Championship.
It meant absolutely NOTHING....ZILCH....NADA...
The Manning hype has been grotesque almost from the day the 2025 NFL Draft ended....its a continuation of the Sheduer Sanders hype....people go from one extreme to the next in a snap of the fingers...want proof??
“My friends he’s not that good.”
That’s the assessment made after four quarters of football in a QB’s first game as the fulltime starter of the team...
no- he’s a redshirt sophomore
I don’t know if he was that bad or OSU was that good.
Cool. The MSM wants it more than you.
He also started two games in 2024 when Ewers was injured...
My friends he’s not that good.
—————————————-
He was playing on the road against the defending national champions. Don’t you think it’s a little early to call the kid a bust?
It’s a long season, it was his first start of the season in a very hostile environment. Sark didn’t help him out either. Needed some crossers, slants, quick throws to get him in stride and confident. Most plays were taking way to long to develop.
He was not good today- he’s more athlete than quarterback at this point....that being the case- Uncle Eli would kill to have his arm strength
Ohio State could be the best Team he faces this year. We shall see what Georgia is this year. I suspect his stats will be pretty good when it’s all said and done. His next three are against San Jose ST, UTEP, Sam Houston... Big pad the stats games. NFL worthy? maybe not, TBD.
Thought the same thing about Deion Sanders with his gold chains and yappin' coming out of college. I was wrong.
BTW- the top NFL quarterback prospect will be playing tomorrow afternoon:
LaNorris Sellers/South Carolina....
Wow. One game and some folks are giving up on him. I think that they played the number one team this year, in the hardest stadium to play in, with the most hostile crowd imaginable. I can’t imagine how he managed to play without passing out from the nerves. So, I think we can reserve criticism of him for at least two games before we give up on him.
The entire state of Louisiana knows how over-rated he is. Texas just found out.
Correction- Uncle Peyton...not Uncle Eli....
Yep- its as comical as the people who anointed him as the Heisman Trophy winner and number one pick in the draft before this game even kicked off....
Louisianans will stick with Arch just like they stuck with Grandpa Archie when he played for the Saints during those terrible years. I’m one of them!
There may have been more Manning commercials, than Manning completed passes.
Just saying what I saw today....Manning sucked! Not even a glimpse of greatness the entire game. Maybe game 2 will be different, but so far he’s all hat , no cattle. 🐂
