I worked for the federal government in the DoD for over 30 years. Your comment is not exactly accurate but your not far off.

It happens, but not near as often as it should.

I could tell you stories that would tick you off to no end....some of it you might not even believe.

What happens to a fired gov employee’s retirement? Not their 401k but pension.

I was “terminated” by DCAA about 10 years ago. Horribly run agency, never had encountered an agency with a preponderance of divorced women. I got to the point where I didn’t care anymore. I retired shortly after.

It was a marked contrast from my 4+ years with the FDIC, where I earned multiple promotions and awards. During my first ten months I went from a GS-7 to GS-13. I was a contract hire during the bank crisis. It was a great agency to work at when Sheila Bair was the director.

I currently am a contractor for a company that does mostly DoD work. We probably have the same type of stories.
