I was “terminated” by DCAA about 10 years ago. Horribly run agency, never had encountered an agency with a preponderance of divorced women. I got to the point where I didn’t care anymore. I retired shortly after.

It was a marked contrast from my 4+ years with the FDIC, where I earned multiple promotions and awards. During my first ten months I went from a GS-7 to GS-13. I was a contract hire during the bank crisis. It was a great agency to work at when Sheila Bair was the director.

Because of the nature of the work my facility did, I was fortunate to work around many ex military.

A level of discipline came with that workforce.....of course, there were a certain amount of dei hires as well that we all had to accomplish the mission in spite of.

Looking back now, dei was in the federal government long before it had a name. 😏
