Like your neighbor, he was just “borrowing” them.

A financial institution I worked at had this happen with a manager and gift cards as the item given then erased off the books.

The poor order approval processes, controls and audits at some companies never cease to amaze me. I can’t see this happening at the companies I worked for. We caught one exec setting up a transnational scheme and his email trail nailed him.

I’d be guilty of having 9,000 pounds of brown mulch delivered, but not tools. ;)

Like the Johnny Cash song, “One Piece at a Time” where a Cadillac was assembled from parts stolen from the line over a period of years.

“The scheme went undetected by upper management for over a year until the employee ordered approximately 9,000 pounds of tools to be delivered to his Wauwatosa apartment.”

He needs an extra 5 years in prison just for being stupid.

I wonder if the IRS might be interested in the 1 million plus windfall of employment benefits. I would think his overhead was free, and he made a boatload of money.

+1. 9000 lbs.of tools….that’s a LOT of drill bits. Maybe hand held power tools, too. And wanting it all delivered to his apartment….🤪
