Happens fairly often, actually. Those Vegas bookies are really, really good at picking the winners.
There are the usual soft games early on, but it seems like recently teams are trying to schedule some good games early in the season, too. They’d all be snooze fests otherwise. I like to watch the competition side of things.
They will be too distracted by going to Walt Disney World and having to see grandma and grandpa who used to live in Brooklyn.

A tougher schedule could make the difference in getting an at-large bid.
Suddenly that USF game looks much tougher.
It usually does. Check FSU’s complaint a few years ago, because they won out in a basketball heavy conference.
I’m hoping the Gators have a decent season this year. They were improving by the end of the season last year. I don’t know how many they lost to the NFL or to transfers. Every season, it’s a new mix.
It’s a brutal schedule though, LIU notwithstanding.
LSU usually underrated
My alum Ole Miss overrated
Notre Dame overrated for a century lol
Ohio usually good
Alabama well I miss Nick
Michigan more overrated than Ohio
Texas I think overrated but I have nothing against them
Georgia fairly rated usually
I’m kinda glad my Horns are a slight underdog. Arch seems to be the real deal and a good guy, as is Sark.
Sorry, can’t wait for my Hurricane’s to wipe the floor with your team again, at Hard Rock this time! Go Canes!
Do you realize that there’s Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and Ohio State in Columbus?
It’s like saying Florida when you mean Florida State, or Oklahoma, when you mean Oklahoma State or any other state that has two universities with similar names.
The reason people make a hoopla over THE Ohio State University is because so many refer to Ohio State as “Ohio”. It wasn’t started because they thought they were better than everyone. It started because people confused the two schools.
If people stopped using Ohio for when they mean Ohio State, the Buckeyes would probably have never made such a big deal over THE.
My BIL is a Hurricane fan, so go blow your smoke elsewhere. I root for the Canes when we’re not playing them.
Our real rivals are FSU and GA. I never pull for either of those teams.
I don’t think I’d make a good bookie. I think the Longhorns are gonna come out on top.
Yep. UF usually has one of the tougher schedules in college football.
Actually the bettors are the people doing the picking. Vegas just sets the spread to keep 50% of the bettors on each side.
Dang
You’re sensitive
And after I as a southerner had the good manners to applaud a yankee team two in fact I think
That my friend is difference between us in a nutshell lol
It’s not like yall don’t get enough adoration from the media already
Have a good Labor Day holiday
I don’t understand the hesitation to put him out front if he’s all they claim
With so much $$$ at stake it’s about winning
Texas is like the Jones team
Given what they are they should dominate
I’m pulling for them
I knew big Archie as a kid a bit
His drew miss high school coach was a friend of my dads in Jax Miss
So whenever he visited we went over to bask in his glory lol
