😉
I came here to say that.
Were you one of your mom’s kids the moose raised?
Sometimes its not the person who hits the deer who gets hurt, but the person in the vehicle behind the deer hitter—the person whose windshield the deer flips onto, especially if the first vehicle is a big pickup truck.
With a cow, though, I can’t see a cow easily being flipped.
I’ve heard of freak accidents where a person gets hurt from a flipped fat raccoon.
The good thing about cows is that they don’t move fast. They don’t dart onto the road out of thick woods like deer do. And they don’t seem to want to be wandering about when it is dark. They aren’t night owls.
Around here, they can be a problem for people who don’t slow down when going over a hill in the country.
One never knows what is moving slowly on the other side.
Stupid not to slow down.
It could be someone on a horse or bike. Or tractor.
Or a cow.
Or a huge pig.
Or 100 turkeys or chickens crossing the road. Or truck full of manure. That can be messy.
Or it could be a coyote with a giant magnet he bought from Acme. I once saw a tv show about that.
When the driver came to, he was stretched out about full length, the back of the seat having given way, putting his head above the left rear seat cushion. Stuffed right up tight next to him was the horse and its broken neck, the balance of the horse mostly where the right front seat had been. The car was off in the ditch and laminated glass was all over creation.
Sobered him right up, it did. He was living testimony of the adage that "God takes care of children and idiots."
I also remember the hubbub caused by the driver of a VW Beetle, who lost control of the car after hitting a hog- the hog going under the front, wedging fast and then acting like a large "skid" that raised the tires enough to cause a loss of steering. Unfortunately, the vehicle and the hog took a bad tangent before it could stop on just the rear brakes/tires and the result was not good.
