I have always hated this maggot, and that was before I found out about his politics. Still can’t stand the sight of the Fender Telecaster. It’s a great guitar but I always associate it with him.
No question about it. Bob Dylan is number two in that category, but at least he is a great songwriter.
My wife really wanted to go see him and the E Street Band in San Diego last year. I’m not a fan of Bruce but I’ve got to keep my wife happy. Three hours of straight music with the only banter was about his old dead buddies. No politics at all. Clarence’s nephew on the saxophone stole the show.
BTO came out at about that. Blue Collar, Lookin’ Out For Number One, Don’t Grt Yourself In Trouble, Let It Roll, and Takin’ Care of Business have more working man cred than Springsteen’s stuff.
As others have said, leftist. Not all that vocal, though I think he had a gun control song on a late-career album. Roll Me Away is my favorite song about personal freedom ever.
