Correlation Between Abortion and Mental Illness
Moonbattery ^ | August 24, 2025 | Dave Blount

At the intersection of moonbattery and mental illness, there you will find liberal women. A study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research may offer insight into what makes them so crazy:

[F]or every 10,000 person-years, 104 women who aborted ended up hospitalized for serious mental health issues like psychiatric disorders, substance abuse, and suicide attempts, while only 42 women who gave birth faced the same fate. …

Women who had more than one abortion saw an even higher chance of mental health crises that required hospitalization.

Liberals are much more likely to be crazy and to abort their children, so the correlation is unsurprising. But it could be that guilt is driving them even crazier.

We see them on TikTok, parading their abortions like badges of honor, or screaming in the streets about “bodily autonomy” as if the child inside them is just an inconvenient lump of cells. But scratch beneath the surface of that bravado, and you find a movement that is trying desperately to cover up the guilt, trauma, and regret with empty slogans and angry theatrics.

As for the moronic bumper sticker slogans that serve them as thoughts,

…these slogans aren’t meant to persuade pro-lifers; they’re a crutch for abortion advocates to convince themselves that what they’re defending is somehow right.

If she-moonbats are capable of guilt, maybe they are capable of repentance, reform, and constructive lives of countermoonbattery.

Remember the scene from Schindler’s List, where the Nazi officer goes nuts while they’re burning the bodies of all those Jews and he starts screaming and firing at the corpses with his pistol? He can’t comprehend the full horror of what they’re doing so he lashes out. That image comes to mind sometimes when I think about the hell that pro-abortionists are really bringing upon themselves. They can’t or won’t confront their actions or the mentality that brought them to that, and all that bottled-up guilt has to come out somehow. No wonder their mental health is so lacerated.

Undiagnosed mental illness may have had something to do with the pregnancy in the first place.

I never understood unwanted pregnancies when one considers all the various contraceptives out there. It’s called being responsible.

Now there are situations of passion where that contraceptive was never thought of and the lib gets her abortion. But having two or three is downright premeditated murder. Bragging about it is as insane as a serial killer boasting about his latest victims.

The taking of innocent human life is the taking of a human life, whether it’s recently conceived, in midlife or a senior. Murder is murder.

Correlation is not causation.

Women with less impulse control would likely get pregnant more frequently and also be predisposed to mental illness.

You might wish that but the reality is far from that simple. The reality of post-abortion trauma is attested to by the research. Has been for years. It was denied by the medical establishment, and still is, as much of the medical establishment is pro-abortion; and out of misplaced compassion doesn’t want to ‘stigmatize’ women who have them. Abortion is the willful taking of innocent human life, and thus is in itself a traumatizing, life-altering event for many of not most women.

I totally agree with you.

I do a lot of work with women and I usually know if they have had an abortion, without them saying anything. The stored memory always has guilt, no matter the person’s overt beliefs.

The soul knows right from wrong, even when the person does not know.

I’ve found this to be true, even when working with abortion activists.

There is another major factor they fail to consider. Often the soul of the aborted fetus attaches to the mother and stays. I’ve found as many as 5 in one woman. It’s a complex topic.

When I work with a person, I know their life experiences back to conception. They are all stored in the soul as physical objects.

A child 8n the womb cannot differentiate between their own experiences and their mother’s experiences.

“Correlation is not causation.”

It is amazing how many people will throw that out over number crunching such as this. Sometimes, correlation reveals causation. That is mostly how doctors diagnose sickness. It is called symptoms.

In science, the only time that correlation comes close to being causation is when there is a dosage related curve that reflects a stronger correlation.

What you say is true about correlation providing clues. That is why AI is so beneficial in medicine as it is more comprehensive in differential diagnosis.

“...the only time that correlation comes close to being causation...”

I never said correlation is causation.
