The title is misleading with squirrelly punctuation. Show me where Trump clearly stated ‘Let Ukraine fight back’?
Trump’s wrong on this part......
if the grifter zelensky doesn’t negotiate a peace deal this time, the U.S. should stop all aid and walk away, because zelensky will never end the war
“To the Last Ukrainian!” - The Zeeping Room
FAKE NEWS.
Trump did not say, "Let Ukraine fight back."
Trump commented that Biden permitted defensive weapons only, and noted that this was unusual if the point was to help Ukraine win.I checked AI, and it at first affirmed Trump said it, then the AI explained that Trump actually criticized Biden. Then the AI said Trump never explicitly said that.
The sources the AI used for it's 'proof' were almost all lefty pro-Ukrainian war sources.
Trump:
“It is very hard, if not impossible, to win a war without attacking an invader’s country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It’s like a great team in sports that has a fantastic defense, but is not allowed to play offense.”
Trump has the opportunity to be the Reagan of our time and give them a second crushing defeat. End the KGB era once and for all.
They can fight back for as long and hard as they want, as long as American taxdollars no longer fund a proxy war with Russia, and no free American-made weapons are provided. Europe can pay the U.S. for all that crap. We’ve been funding that war from the beginning, which is the only reason it has gone on as long as it has. It will be interesting to see how much money the Euroweenies are willing to cough up to allow Ukraine to continue fighting this useless war.
My best guess is that Trump is suggesting aggressive U.S. sanctions on Russia are coming in the increasingly likely event that Putin walks away from a peace deal. Putin never should have offered concessions that he didn’t intend to honor. That’s less a show of disrespect to Ukraine than to President Trump.
Trump seems to be suggesting that, in response, he will start going on the offensive. I doubt that means direct military action from the U.S. but rather aggressive economic pressure. Besides an aggressive application of secondary sanctions, we apparently have the ability to significantly halt Russia’s international trade by shutting down their ability to receive payments through the SWIFT system, which is run jointly by the U.S. and Europe. There may be, and probably are, other sanctions he has in mind that I’m not aware of.
