At long last, college football returns this week.
Before the first full slate of games take place in the final week of August, the 2025 season will kick off with a five-game slate on Saturday, Aug. 23. Week 0 will be highlighted with its first matchup of the day, a game between Iowa State and Kansas State in Dublin, Ireland for the 10th edition of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.

Every Saturday there will be a couple of good games to watch as well as a must-see one. Problem-why can’t they spread more of these good/must-see games between Tuesday and Thursday nites?
Weekday games present some big problems. Game traffic must compete with commuter traffic, and fans must compete with students and faculty for parking. Noisy crowds can also be disruptive to classes that are in session. The Pac 12 tried to phase in weekday games over the past several years, a move widely resented by fans.
Getting more difficult to get excited over college sports in general and college football in specific.
I have no clue to which teams are in which conference.
The expanded college football playoffs left me wanting and now there is talk of further expansion.
In a strange way I like the new transfer rules and the portal.
A top ten school can no longer stockpile QB’s and have a back-up that is better than the top 20 through 10 team’s starters.
I’ll be watching, but I suspect I’ll be watching less.

LOL, good one! I really dislike women announcers and women referees for men’s sports. For women’s sports, it makes sense.
