Shoplifting has a huge financial impact. Not only do products walk right out the door, but honest customers are afraid to shop in stores plagued by shoplifting, as things can turn violent quickly.
I know about the effects of theft in our Target store. These thieves take the rolling luggage cases, stuff them with merchandise, and roll them right out of the store. The police won’t do anything to stop them. These thieves roll their stolen goods over to a car in the parking lot where a “fence” will give them money for the stolen merchandise. Those goods will end up being sold over the internet. Do you think the police couldn’t figure that out?
With these outlets gone, people will have to drive miles to get things they need. I was in Home Depot looking for a hardware item. They didn’t have the item and told me to go to Amazon for it. This illustrates big government’s attack on the supply sector.

I drive regularly throughout the area. Someone left his bicycle chained in front of a store. Thieves came and completely disassembled the bike and stole it in pieces in broad daylight.
The Leftists in charge in Western Washington have allowed this destruction of civilization. They tolerate crime to the point the entire Seattle area is descending into third-world anarchy. This is a dangerous area to be avoided.

My wife’s nephew does metal fabrication work in Seattle. Last week he told me there are brand new tall buildings in Seattle that are totally unoccupied.

”A steady rise in theft” is a “financial reason” Mayor Franklin.
Red and Blue cities/states are showing more separation, which is good for comparisons. The Dem Party seems to be migrating to the extreme extreme Left which is not at all popular with mainstream Americans - it will help wake people up, like Bidenflation did.
“We have done shoplifting emphasis stings, we’ve done emphasis patrols, we have created a buffer zone around that store and crime is down in all areas, especially shoplifting,” said Mayor Franklin.

Well, to stay in business, they’ll have to put everything behind locked plexiglass cases like in California, right?
A local Ralphs recently put in an entire plexiglass section of items that are constantly stolen - laundry detergent, personal care items, baby formula, diapers and more. You have to pay for your items in that particular section which has its one door in and out that can be shut and locked.
It was either that or the entire store closes.
