I recall when Asian Americans were called The Model Minority, due to their tendency to study and achieve socioeconomic success. For the most part, they still are today, but now, there are a couple of flies in the ointment.

I taught science in a big-city high school for many years. And I had quite a few Asian-American students.
The ones who were first generation Americans were amazing. They were quiet, serious, and very hard-working.
The second generation ones… eh, not so much.

This country has abandoned character for looks and when guilt or innocent is based on something as shallow as their attractiveness, that only reinforces the problem.
