Russia expects India to keep buying its oil and seeks China-India-Russia talks

Russia expects to continue supplying oil to India despite warnings from the United States, Russian embassy officials in New Delhi said on Wednesday, adding that Moscow hopes trilateral talks will soon take place with India and China.

US President Donald Trump has announced an additional tariff of 25 percent on Indian goods exported to the US from August 27, as a punishment for buying Russian oil, which constitutes 35 percent of India’s total imports compared with a negligible 0.2 percent before the Ukraine war.

“I want to highlight that despite the political situation, we can predict that the same level of oil import (by India),” Roman Babushkin, the charge d’affaires at the Russian embassy in India, told a press briefing.

He predicted India and Russia would find ways to overcome Trump’s latest tariffs in their “national interests.”

Trade talks between India and the US broke down over the opening up of India’s vast farm and dairy sectors, as well as its purchases of Russian oil. The total tariff announced on Indian goods entering the US is 50 percent.

The Indian foreign ministry did not immediately reply to an emailed request for comment.

It has previously said the US decision to single out India for Russian purchases was “extremely unfortunate.”

Russia’s Deputy Trade Commissioner Evgeny Griva on Wednesday said buying oil from Russia is “very profitable” for India, which will not want to change its supplier.

On average Russia gives a 5-7 percent discount to Indian buyers, he said, adding that Russia has a “very, very special mechanism” to continue oil supplies to India. In addition, he said Russia had started accepting Indian rupee payments for its goods after the resolution of issues that had trapped billions of dollars worth of funds in Indian banks.

Singling out India brought Putin to Alaska.

“Singling out India brought Putin to Alaska.”

Not true. India exports to the U.S. are barely 1.2% of India’s GDP, but India’s oil imports from Russia are more than a third of Indian oil imports. The U.S. is more dependent on imports from India than is India in need of imports from the U.S.

India could say “go ahead and impose your 50% tariff” and its GDP would not suffer greatly. It has market alternatives in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Whaa?

Witkoff’s visit to Moscow carrying an offer, that the Kremlin accepted, is what brought Putin to Alaska.

As for Indian oil, when one says 35% of Indian imports are Russian oil, and it used to be <1%, then India used to be getting oil from somewhere else.

That somewhere else is now supplying more to Europe, who used to buy direct from Russia.

And here is the key point. That somewhere else can’t just say, okay, we’ll go back to supplying India AND ALSO Europe.

There is no magic. There is only so much oil flowing out of the ground, and there is a growing amount of oil burned and flowing into the air. When the reality is scarcity, you can’t eliminate 6+% of the source and expect that to work.

Oh, and to make it worse? India’s domestic oil production is about 900K barrels/day. Down from the previous year and the one before that and that and that.

People somehow don’t see the math. They HAVE to buy oil. In this case to Transship to Europe because for whatever reason Europe wants to pay more for what they HAVE to buy than they would pay direct to Russia.

There is no discretion. Oil is life. Don’t buy it, you don’t transport food.

But claims of “limited” supply of oil is the cabal’s propaganda.

Then there would be no reason for Europe to have a problem. They could drill in downtown Paris and flow X thousand bpd.

Or hell, maybe in your backyard.

Or here’s a great photo for you, showing how infinite oil refilled a field:

Check the dates. Notice how they shut down while Republicans were still running California — because geology going empty didn’t care whose party was in charge.

The whole state does 500K bpd today. It was still 1.1 mbpd in 1985.

There is the possibility of reducing US demand substantially by say raising the gas tax by $5/gallon and using the funds to say do away with employee Medicare tax to somewhat balance it out.

If we need to save Europe from the ravenous territorial appetite of Russia, so be it.

NOTE: I don’t support either idea, I’m just mentioning them.

The US can. Also tell India it can educate its own population or maybe use some Chinese schools. That would immediately get MAGA to back being hard to Russia. Kill all H1Bs to India and I bet you even MTG would back sending all the weapons Ukraine wants. The US doesn’t need India but more importantly the U.S doesn’t WANT the relationship they currently have with India. The Globalist want it and Trump can play really loose with India because his base is 100% with him on this one.

I’m convinced it’s safe to assume every cabal talking point is a lie.

Do your own numbers, then there are no lies.
