US President Donald Trump welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the White House on Monday, calling it "an honor to have Zelensky with us" ahead of joint talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
Trump also noted there was a "reasonable chance" for progress following his recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At the same time, Zelensky thanked Trump for his help regarding the meeting and for the letter First Lady Melania Trump sent to Putin about abducted children.

FYI, Trump was the first President to send lethal military aid and US troops to train the Ukrainians.

He is not considering any such thing. He mentioned the possibility of American troops in Ukraine (like we have in Germany today, for example) AFTER the war is over as a deterrent to military attacks.
I do not think Trump will put US troops in.

Trump is in the middle of negotiations. He very carefully danced around without answering this question. He knows that Americans do not want a single American soldier going to Ukraine.
