Awhile back I read an article (posted here?) that said a gasoline-powered car is statistically more likely to spontaneously combust than an EV.
Maybe I’m missing something. But I don’t buy that. When is the last time a gasoline-powered car just sitting there blew up?

It may be true that gasoline powered vehicles are more likely to burn (I doubt many spontaneously combust), but they certainly do not take in excess of 4 hours to extinguish and then have to be in a sort of quarantine for 45 days in case they reignite.

In the 1990’s I had a Ford F-250. It started on fire while sitting in my driveway. It was not running and had been sitting for several hours. Apparently they had some issue with alternator wiring or something like that.
