Ping!
(In Memoriam… Rest In Peace, brother)
Sadly, it has fallen to the DEI crowd like most other museums.
Diversity messages and supporting photographs prevail.
Actual artefacts? Not like they used to!
The Smithsonian….same thing only way worse.
I was shocked when once again visiting the California Railway Museum in Sacramento a few years ago. Not be going back. (Oh, and the so called ‘homeless’ bums crammed into every single spit of Sacramento’s downtown open ground is another reason)
I went there once to take a break form the Oshkosh air show in 2012 or 13.
Great place.
My husband’s father worked for the railroad - he inherited a lot of memorabilia including railroad station clocks and official watches, one of which was a pocket watch that belonged to his dad.
All of it stolen in a home robbery except for a wooden railway engine plaque that I have up on one of the walls.
Every time we’d go to one of these museums he’d see antique railroad memorabilia that he’d once owned. None of it was ever recovered.
