“I was a rural teenager in the 70’s and we ALL had access to guns, knives, etc. for hunting after school and before evening chores and supper.
Never in our wildest DREAMS would it of occurred to ANY of us to turn those weapons on one another!
Got a beef with someone? Boyfriend cheating on you with the Head Cheerleader? You duke it out, bare-handed, behind the dumpsters or under the bleachers. ;)”

Ditto for the 50’s too.
We all had access to guns, and even took them to school if going to spend the night with a friend, and were going to go hunting after school.
We are now living in a post Christian era. Back in the 50’s most every kid went to Sunday School/church, or at the very least knew what a Bible was. Not so much now. And, it’s only going to get worse.
You both nailed it. ‘Childhood’ as we all knew it, is completely gone. :(
And here I thought raising kids in the 90’s was tough! Schools were REALLY starting to come on strong with the Socialist Agenda. I spent a LOT of time de-programing my boys while we did homework after dinner EVERY D@MN EVENING!
But, they STILL didn’t shoot anyone, so there’s that. ;)
