In August 2025, McDonald's Japan launched a limited-time promotion offering Pokémon cards with Happy Meals, aiming to bring joy to children. However, the event unintentionally sparked a "Pokémon chaos."
A large group of Chinese scalpers flooded into Japanese stores, frantically buying up the meals,. Despite a clear rule limiting purchases to five sets per person, one customer from China attempted to buy 40 meals, just to collect the Pokémon cards. When questioned about violating the rule, the customer responded casually, "Each person can buy five sets; I have eight people.” Join this channel to get access to perks:

A lot of parallels with today’s “Wokism”. No question they use The Cultural Revolution as their blueprint.
Well, lady, your ass isn't exactly perfect, either!
From what I’ve read even the Americans are not as hated like the Chinese are. There have been a few live streamers, Johnny Samali and that bunch cause trouble but they got what’s coming to them. The Chinese is another story. They just keep at it and destroy everything in sight.
Yeah, the Chinese in Japan are insane because they lug huge amounts of stuff back to China and resell it, and they generally are nasty to Japanese. The livestreaming American trend has also decreased recently.

A few months ago, TV news here in Japan reported on Chinese tourists (and resellers) lining up early in the morning before Tokyo Disneyland opened, so they could rush in buy out the supply of limited edition souvenirs being sold. Here's a link:
Disney Fans Outraged at Duffy Resellers.
The McDonalds Pokemon souvenirs is a similar situation. And the reason given for this frantic buying is simply that the Chinese people have no faith in the future value of their own country's currency. They are therefore eager to buy up assets that will increase in value in the years ahead.
I don’t think we will ever know the true butchers bill.
Well said.
Im no expert on China, I’ve read, A little.
Mao and his brand of bloodthirsty bandits replaced the ethos of good/merit with communism. And communism is itself a fake, really China today is ruled more like by a mob. Strong men whose word is law.
The communism nonsense of equality for all is just a front.
