Big deal, re-hasher.
Try something original.
AI can’t.
My nephew developed and runs the #1 Chess Bot in the world managed by a single individual. A few Teams beat him. But no other single person.
He’s got a Chinese girlfriend now, they’re cute as heck, and one hopes on the road to forever together.
Queen’s Gambit was entirely fiction. It was a propaganda piece of gender swapping roles so that girls can be made to feel like they can do anything boys can do. I have yet to hear of a woman chess champion. It would be cool but you can’t make it happen just by making up a story about it in the hopes that some actual real girl is going to like chess enough to make it a lifetime ambition. I only saw a few minutes of different episodes because my wife has a higher tolerance for stupid than I do.
“and resign when the game is unwinnable.”
How about resigning when the game is lost?
The Best Move depends on superior position.
If you are losing, the Best Move is towards a tie position.
Elite human chess players memorize thousands of previously analyzed winning, losing, and tie positions.
Every move they make is directed towards a winning position - or - stopping their opponent from reaching a winning position.
“resign when the game is unwinnable...”
Perhaps the author meant “to agree to a draw when the game is unwinnable.”
I’ve analyzed along with a computer. Sometimes the computer engine avoids the obvious move. I think the obvious move should still be checked. If it’s obvious and bad, then I learn something about the position. Often, there is nothing wrong with the obvious move. It’s just that the computer found a move of equivalent value. I prefer playing purposeful moves as it makes for a logical game.
