On a serious note, does anyone remember the lead up to Mt St Helen’s?
Do you think a supervolcano/caldera that has been measured for decades is going to “surprise” everyone? That’s not how this stuff works. That’s not how any of this works.
The earth rising and falling would be measurable in inches/centimeters. That isn’t happening very quickly these days.
Volcanoes erupt slowly, then all at once.............

Well they do say that eruptions of that nature are unpredictable - therefore it would be a surprise.
No one thought St Helens would be a VEI of 5. No one.
