So is it the potato or the oil the potato is fried in? What about home made chunky hash browns cooked with a crisp shell and doused with paprika?

I still believe seed oil is the villain. Beef tallow for this guy when it comes to my fry!!

Seed oils become plastics when heated to high temps..................

I have read it is the oil. Most of the fast food places use seed oil, not lard.

Beef tallow is good, but try duck fat too- really good. Can get it from Amazon, Walmart, grocery stores. Can cook fries, hash browns, chunk crisps, waffle potatoes, etc in the oil. Tip, strain the oil after and refrigerate and use again for a few times

tHEY HAD BEEF TALLOW ON SALE AT cOSTCO LAST WEEK.
fIRST TIME I’VE seen it there.
