I know you like the Pauls, but you’re getting way too obsessive.

Maybe take up fly fishing.

If more people, especially conservatives, had heard this speech back then, we would be facing far less troubles today.

And we wouldn’t have been betrayed by so many wolves in sheep’s clothing (Mark Levin, Jonah Goldberg, Krauthammer....etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum).

If we are to stay out of these wars where America has no interest, we need to be reminded of the wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Because it seems to me that Trump is being influenced by the NeoCons he did such an excellent job of ignoring during his first term.

George W. Bush needs to be made to listen to it.

The Speech that woke me up!

That's illuminating. It took you another 16 years to find FR??? /s

I never heard this speech. I'll listen to the rest later; he does frame it accurately in the first 60 seconds.

But I'll bite (I'm in a mood):

Correspondingly, over the ensuing period (the last 22 years) the party in power in the Portland, Oregon region has become empowered by the lack of protests against it which, ironically, have been VIOLENTLY opposed by the antifa criminals, supported by the inaction of police/prosecutors under said party. Government is out of control across the left states, so much so that ODOT 'lost' $1,000,000,000 (yes, that's accurate), the media ignores the matter, the leftists in control propose all manner of tax/fee increases to plug the budget hole and there is no formal accounting. NONE. The CA 'Palisades FireAid $$' scandal is just more evidence of what I describe. The ODOT fraud is just the latest and most egregious act by a state under supermajority dems supported by a diseased electorate ('true pandemic' coupled with liberalism), opposed by a party comprised of felines.

When "democracy" is framed as 'mob rules'...Oregon is the literal, living definition. A 'supermajority' in state legislatures must be addressed by the U.S. Constitution (a mechanism for relief by a subject populace under a Republic is missing in USC), but that requires a functioning Congress (which has been thoroughly coopted; see my prior re Awan Bros., etc.).

The Republic is arguably ineffective with 2024 election juxtaposed against 2016. I would argue that we were at the precipice in November 2024 (TGIDJT). DJT has a LOT of work to do. The likeminded would agree that as a threat to the plutocracy (I reference those truly in control, NOT 'the rich'), DJT is in grave danger.

Unless Paul was calling for local level violent action against leftist agitators/activists/criminals to compel political change pursuant to limited government - something NO ONE has cojones to state even today despite parallels of antifa & 'brown shirts' - then the speech means NOTHING; we're all just along for the ride until some event thins the leftist herds and the likeminded among us are facilitating such. Frankly, 9/11 arguably eclipsed all historical events which preceded it, measured in terms of effects and the those it affected in the ensuing decades. THAT little fact should wake others; regrettably, it is lost to many (see A Good American).

Buoying my confidence in the future, we have an administration making waves.

But as I've cited ad nauseam prior, my other hand is full and I'm not blinded by administration actions which others cheer. To the contrary, it is the lack of action in key areas which concern me greatly, reinforcing my view that the state (and the left) is merely either lying in wait for the next election...or planning something nefarious.

Speeches mean nothing without a leader. Ron has failed in that respect - look at what's transpired in the 2 decades hence - and, likewise, so has his son. We now have a powerful leader @ 1600 but he is distracted by the job, not marshalling additional political support [IMHO] and Republicans are actively dividing MAGA.

Absent said leadership, we should be compelled to organize.

In closing, all freedom loving, Constitution supporting Conservatives should have pertinent radio equipment pursuant to what's coming.

https://www.arrl.org/home

Local amateur radio chapters regularly hold events at which used/surplus radio equipment may be purchased for cash at steep discounts.

[Note: You do NOT need a license to purchase/own equipment and 'monitor' frequencies to learn how to keep in touch when SHTF ;-) ...'yet']

It was only safe AFTER a period of inflection and when Donald Trump took over.

It changed a lot of things [for the better]

When Ron gave that speech it was heresy and he was almost kicked out of the party!

“”The ODOT fraud is just the latest and most egregious act by a state under supermajority dems supported by a diseased electorate (’true pandemic’ coupled with liberalism), opposed by a party comprised of felines.””

I realize that that is your ‘nice way’ of saying what the GOP in Oregon really are... but blaming felines for the stupidity and cowardice of humans is something I take issue with (lol). Most felines are fierce when cornered and threatened. That said (in jest)... you have made some excellent points here, which I totally agree with.

DJT has been in ‘grave danger’ from the day (escalator day) that he announced. The Hillary Mafia has been out to get him for just that long. And yes, we are all just along for the ride and have been for decades.

Rand Paul is really good at making speeches and getting attention, but what has he actually ‘done’ to help or rectify the situation we’ve been in? Nada, to my knowledge. Empty suit.

Excellent post, btw.

“Oregon is....”

People fled Chicago for the suburbs. Now they flee IL for Texas.
People flee NY for FL.
The reason GA went purple is so many Dems Fled Dem policies of the Dem states.

Are the rest of us fortunate that Oregonites are not fleeiong OR?

Conservatives ARE fleeing Oregon, while it continues to be a destination for hypocrites from down south.

It was a metaphor ;-)

Rand learned nothing from his father’s mistakes.

He is truly ‘Ron Paul Jr.’

(THX, btw!)

Yeah, I definitely caught the funny metaphor. Loved it.

Rand Paul siding with the Democrats on ANY issue is a red flag, to me. I don’t trust him and I don’t trust Graham either, despite his apparent lap-dog routine lately of being pro-Israel and pro-Trump. They both have sided with the Democrats and that makes them a traitor to the right. No amount of ‘acting otherwise’ can make up for it.
