United States President Donald Trump confirmed on Wednesday that he will participate in a call with European leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, "in a short while." The call, currently expected to start at 4 pm CET, was set up ahead of Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the outlines of a possible agreement to end the war in Ukraine. "They are great people who want to see a deal done," Trump said, referring to European leaders.
Earlier today, Zelensky arrived in Berlin to meet with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and take part in the call. Ahead of the trip, Zelensky warned his allies to "prevent deception by Russia" and put pressure on Moscow to agree to an "honest peace." Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Kremlin insists on Ukraine's neutrality as a prerequisite for a lasting peace.
