Back in the 80s when I used to listen to them on the raid my dad thought the Radio DJ was saying “Holland Oats” instead of “Hall and Oates”

AI says:
Hall & Oates, the iconic duo known for hits like “Rich Girl” and “Maneater,” have inspired some amusing misheard lyrics. One notable example is in their song “Every Time You Go Away,” where some listeners initially interpreted the lyrics as “Every time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you” instead of the actual line, “Every time you go away, you take a piece of me.”
Another example, although less widely circulated, involves the song “Rich Girl.” Some listeners initially misheard the line “You’re a rich girl” as “You’re a bitch, girl.”

Everytime you go away is not by Hall and Oates. That one was Paul Young. AI is a liar.

Hall and Oates (or Hall or Oates) wrote it.
Paul Young made it a hit.

Yep, I learned that last night from dfwgator. Thanks! I stand by my comment that AI, particularly ChatGPT, is a liar, even if it was right this time.

Hall is a lefty dem
Hall ran for Congress in the 19th District in the September 2006 primary race as a Democrat in New York’s 19th congressional district. He won the primary, with a commanding 48% in a 4-way race, and faced incumbent Sue W. Kelly in the November election.

LOL. You kind of owe an apology, you are way off. The person you are referring to is John Hall. He was in a band called Orleans that had some hits in the mid-70's, but he is in now way related to Daryl Hall.
