Trying to ‘Notice’ What is Going On
American Thinker ^ | 12 Aug, 2025 | Christopher Chantrill

We are at a turning point in history, the end of the age of politics as religion, of heaven on earth, the rule of the educated elite. In other words, a revolution.

About eight years from now, after the reelection of President Vance, experts will agree that there was something rotten in the state of Clinton, Obama, and Biden. Always the last to know, the experts will finally “notice” that something has changed in this city on a hill.

Steve Sailer has a book on Noticing. And why not? The most important skill for a human is to notice when things have changed and then to figure out what to do next.

Anyone with half a brain noticed that something had changed back in 2016 when neophyte politician Trump ran for the presidency. And the Deep State noticed it too. That’s what Clinton and Obama and Clapper and Brennan and Uncle Tom Cobbley and our world-beating Intelligence Community were conspiring to stop before it was too late. Only they failed.

I notice, according to reports, that President Trump has just brokered his seventh peace agreement between warring states since January 20 and counting.

All of us, excepting our liberal friends, really want to know what this all means.

This is what I noticed in the last few days. There’s a Salena Zito piece on Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. I’ll just give you the high points:

Spend any time listening to Bessent talk, and it is clear he is laser-focused on one thing, something he can only accomplish in his current job: lifting America’s economy into a position where both Main Street and Wall Street are performing equally robustly.

And this:

The 79th treasury secretary also loves working with President Donald Trump... The banter, trust, and respect that went

The left may have noticed, but they have yet to comprehend.

The Looters have been running the country for decades. People were either ignorant or else just assumed that it was normal to be governed by moochers and looters. But now Trump is showing that it does not have to be that way, and should not be that way. This will hopefully set the stage for long term change in how American expect their government to behave.

The most important skill for a human is to notice when things have changed and then to figure out what to do next.

The military calls it Situational Awareness. For some it takes training. For some it is ingrained. Keep your head on a swivel.

Thanks for posting. Good article, as with most of AT. And excellent point about the middle-class usually being the necessary component in successful revolutions.

About eight years from now, after the reelection of President Vance, experts will agree that there was something rotten in the state of Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden.

My heart sank when Reagan selected GHWB as his running mate.

The left may have noticed, but they have yet to comprehend.

Believe me they have noticed.

They comprehend and are working furiously to reverse the trend.

They are the servants of the Adversary and they will do all in their power to defeat the servants of the One True God.

There was nothing more rotten than the state of Bush and the Trump legacy is still being written.

It was not “normal” throughout world history to have teenage gangs destroying the world’s biggest cities with murder, rape, burglaries, beatings, vandalism, looting and general mayhem.

For generations, the world understood the imperative to kill such deadly predators.

Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden.

Reagan was as good a president as he could be considering the congress he had to deal with, he was honest and believed in the Constitution.

But I would say your have to go back to Coolidge to find a truly Great president.

I am hoping that after the midterms Trump will get really serious about ripping the heart out of the Deep State.

If he does he will have earned the title of Great President.

There’s a lot this guy doesn’t know about Hamilton that takes a jaundiced reading of The Federalist. He was doing everything he could to raise money to defend the country, but in doing so he was as slick as any huckster lying through his teeth without explaining why he was advocating what he was that was clearly not in the long term interests of the Republic, but was clearly in the interest of its lenders.

As I always say — the police are not there to act against the criminals. The police are there to act against law-abiding citizens. The righteous Good Guys must be controlled so that we don’t take out the trash. In the past, that is exactly what used to happen. But in the modern world, the police are there to make sure the trash in the cities is mostly undisturbed.

“...eight years from now, after the reelection of President Vance...”

And Vance is even more conservative than Trump. This will be a golden age for American prosperity, but I expect the Republicans to blow it as usual.

Reagan was as good a president as he could be considering the congress he had to deal with, he was honest and believed in the Constitution.

He also had to deal with the (then) far more numerous and powerful RINOs. I think you are discounting with the above what he did with regard to foreign policy, particularly the Soviet Union.

Reagan was a student of political principle, from Montesquieu to manufacturing. For Coolidge to exceed him, one must explain Hoover. Both of them failed with regard to succession, where Trump has not in picking JD Vance.

end of the age

No, it just waxes and wanes. It's the plight of humanity that you have producers and looters.
