A parent shares why she's not coming out of her own pocket for school supplies.

I’m 78 and in my day no one even talked about it. My parents didn’t see that I had those things, I asked for money and bought what I needed.
Many school districts spend upwards of $40,000 per kid. Taxpayer money of course. But oh they are so broke you have to buy your own glue stick.
If you took one of those horrid brown (sand)paper towels in the bathroom and crumpled and recrumpled it many times, I would soften to enough to be useable.
Yeah, both our toilet paper and paper towels were low grade sandpaper and the pink nasty liquid soap that didn’t even lather. Good times!
Also wet toilet paper from the sink stuck on the bathroom ceiling real nice.
I’m not a fan of burning books, but that’s one book I’d happily throw into the fire.
Every kid should bring their supplies and a cigar box to keep them in. And whatever Big Chief tablets they need.
But it’s socialism 101 to have the kids be required to show up with supplies, and the teacher collects them and distributes them as needed.
Why not just beat the kids up and take all their lunch money too? So everyone can get the same amount.
I’ll bet the school could lose an “administrator” and cover all the supplies for at least a year for the whole school from the savings.
Then what’s the point of shirt sleeves?
Have y’all ever noticed who receives the donations from the school supply drive? It’s always for the illegal alien anchor babies getting free public education.
“Yeah, both our toilet paper and paper towels were low grade sandpaper and the pink nasty liquid soap that didn’t even lather. Good times!”
You all had liquid soap? No we had bar soap! That’s why I said it was probably old fashion lye and very cheap. It did lather up and it cleaned but your skin was very dry.
>< In this case you are wrong. You must not have watched the video.
The mother buys supplies for her kids to take to school and the teacher takes the supplies from them to share with the whole class. That is forced socialism.
Oh geez, we had a math teacher in 7th grade who was very senior in the age group.
We did a total class spitball shooting one day. Almost everyone was shooting onto the blackboard (which had been cleaned before class).
How she did not hear that was a question. Eventually she noticed the chalkboard looked like the moon surface! She gasped and just sat at her desk and cried.
She went to the office and got the principal. The entire class got in trouble. (Nothing really happened) They picked a few to clean up.
Good times!!!
I had an engineer from Bangladesh work for me about 10 years ago. We went to lunch where you had to walk through a mall to get to. They had one of those toy drive Christmas trees where you are supposed to to grab a star and buy the kid the presents. There were nothing but “diverse” names asking for Xboxes, Jordan sneakers, expensove toys, stuff like that. He said they were happy when they finally got running water in his village and they have no appreciation for how good things are.
