Oh, that’s what I’ve been doing wrong.
My cc piece is a CZ75 compact. I like the DA 1st shot. Also like condition 1 cocked and locked. My sig 938 is similar for when I need a tiny gun.
Agreed. If I dont enjoy shooting them, they are quickly sold off.
Glocks and Sigs ‘fit’ me perfectly. I can fire well on both. Sig hammers are a bit better but dammit Sig is getting a bad rap lately.
If I were to tell someone to carry, it would be a chambered Glock 26 or 43X or 19 now. You just can’t beat those on safety with a decent holster.
Firearm worked exactly as designed. "They" didn't keep the booger hook off the bang switch. And apparently didn't use a holster that covered the trigger guard.
CZ 75 is my favorite model for CC. I also have many CZ clones. Hammer down and first pull double action is my preference. Cocked and locked not so much. Just seems like an extra step before I pull the trigger (because it is). One less thing to worry about when it really counts. Again, I do know many people who do carry cocked and locked, especially on 1911’s. They never had an issue.
The Glock is one of those guns that requires too much from me.
I’m not a movie action star. If someone attacks me I’m going to be so shakey and make so many mistakes.
Why? Because I’m scared shitless of killing someone.
There. I said it. I loath the idea of having to use my gun.
Exactly. However, I never had that problem when carrying my double/single actions. A heavier double action first pull prevents that. Makes me more comfortable when carrying CC.

Truth be told, me too. However, I’m also not too keen on dying by assault. I’d rather be alive and then deal with what comes next. I have shooter’s insurance with lawyer on standby. Hope I never need to use it.
I carry a G19 everyday, everywhere. Never failed me yet. Performs well with Federal, Cor-Bon, and other critical defense ammo.
Same with my G17 and G21.
Great firearm for a decent price.
I still laugh when I remember Ted “The Swimmer” Kennedy hyperventilating about “plastic guns that won’t show up on airport security scanners” when the G17 first came out…
Glock pistols feature a “Safe Action” system that includes three independent safety mechanisms: a trigger safety, a firing pin safety, and a drop safety.
Re “… Chuck Schummer was screaming that they were “designed for aircraft hijackings” …”
So was Teddy Kennedy… they their own little “Echo Chamber of Idiocy” working overtime on the Glock.
But…
We won.
Re “… loath the idea of having to use my gun...”
Most sane people do.
That makes you normal.
Mine too, a P-01. Cut my teeth on a Browning Hipower, so it feels right.
What I like about the Glock 19 and 23 is they can use the same holster, even kydex.
And in a Bianchi locking or Safariland ALS, you’re as safe as houses.
Gaston Glock was a badass. He was in his 70s, and beat the hell out of a guy with a hammer.
postscript clee1 Two interesting factoids for CZ owners frustrated with holster scarcity:
The Sig P220 holster in steer leather should fit your CZ 97B;
And many Glock 19 leather holsters fit my P-01.
Glock 43 for me. In an excellent 1791 leather owb holster.
Yep, it’s ugly. But it’s light and comfortable. And accurate? I’m sure it shoots better than me. But I only carry it for self defense. It stays on my hip or in the truck at all times. Probably in 10 years shot 100 rounds. Cleaned it twice other than wiping it down occasionally. 0 rust. 0 malfunctions. For what I want, I can’t think of anything better.
For self defense, reliability is everything. And Glocks, are the most reliable semi-auto available IMO. Ugly or not
BHP! My favorite.
Light, easy to work on, a good first handgun.
Trigger is the only really bad feature.
Same here, gen4 G19 every day, occasionally my G43X. Also have G23 & G27 that I carried for many years, but I gravitated to the 9’s. Have many other brands that I shoot and own, but only carry the Glocks.
