“Hard to find an honest search engine.”
You can say that again, it is absolutely true. And because of AI monitoring them it is even getting worse. I have been noticing games the last two months with search engines. Take DDG, It is blocking their own hot link forwarding from their own results to certain sites that fall into controversial content. It shows them, but you can’t click it and go there.
I have to copy the link and then go throw it into a new tab and bypass DDG to get there. It will not just hot link from the first results page. So they are censoring their own search results and purposely making it more work to go to these sources.
And this information control is just the beginning. They plan to reshape human history and knowledge with these AI tools... They are going to create an alternate reality. Here is one for you...
A very knowledgeable tech peer of mine now suspects that AI is even building fake websites on the fly already filled with controlled information to satisfy your current search query. So it presents you with a fake site rather than a real site.
Is this tech possible? Absolutely...
