Someone needs to tell Nadine El-Bawab that 118 is not exceptional in the Valley of the Sun. There’s a reason it’s called that.
You’d think an Arab would already get that.
No, it’s never been 118 in August here, until yesterday.
And most of Texas today it’s over 100° with 45% hellish uninhabitable humidity.
Most of the summer in Phoenix, it has actually been a bit cooler than normal.
This is normal...happens every year.
Now if we can just get some monsoon rain, that would be nice.
.
El Bawab.
It is bad. It got to 77 here today.
People move here because for 9 months of the year, we have very nice weather.
I originally came from MN where if they are lucky MIGHT have 3 months of good weather/year.
.
I live in that Big Valley.
Yeah, it gets really hot sometimes.
Redding/Red Bluff being the hottest. At the north end.
I know someone who lives in Surprise Az, west of Phoenix, making a very good living just caring for the homes of people temporarily gone. His wife makes as good an income in real estate and gets some of her deals with heads up from her husbands clients looking to sell.
” it’s never been 118 in August here, until yesterday”
I’m gonna guess that’s because it’s the normal start of the monsoon.
But July...
Burned my hand on a chrome door handle in Tucson, had to open it with a bandanna.
“for 9 months of the year, we have very nice weather”
Opinions vary.
Over 95 is too hot for most. Even at 11%.
“Burned my hand on a chrome door handle in Tucson, had to open it with a bandanna.”
Only park in the shade.
No matter what.
Golly, it would make you think they are in a desert.
Nothing is worse than high temperatures with high humidiy.
To me that’s a total deal breaker.
Well,
I have crazy relatives. They decided to go there in the middle of Summer.
I tried to talk them out of it, but to no avail. So we went!
It did not felt too bad.
Even had lunch in the outside restaurant there.
Weather app reads 110 here in downtown Phoenix. 2:03 p.m.
It’s currently about 107 out here west of Tucson, maybe 7 or 8 degrees cooler than yesterday, I’d say. No rain right here since about a month ago, and none for two months before that. Come on, monsoon!
