What if we sent a probe to explore a black hole? One astrophysicist believes it.Believes what?

Just aim in the general area. The rest takes care of itself in 300 years, and it won’t get back to you.

I’m not sure black holes are proven to exist yet.

It's a LOT closer, and you don't need a special sensor.

Sorry but the nearest “black hole”, if they really do exist, is so many hundreds of light years away, no earth made object or probe would ever get near it.

I sent a probe into a black hole once.
Her parents hated me.

My mistake. I thought this was another Jasmine Crockett thread.

It’s a great idea. We sent out space probes nearly 50 yrs ago, and they have travelled about 22 light HOURS.
How many light years away is the nearest black hole, and how many years would it take for the data to be sent back?

Whatever moron wrote the absurd title to this screed didn't read the article!
"Cosimo Bambi suggests that sending a spacecraft to closely study a nearby black hole could be possible"
Also, how many thousands or millions of years will it take to get there????
Astrophysicist my butt!

there is hope that astronomers could discover a black hole much closer And because of a reduced speed requirement, it'd be even better if it were heading straight towards us.
Well, maybe not.

The nearest known black hole is 1,500 light years away.
